On of the different creations God has made that I find to be a be blessing, are the lizards in my yard. Yeah, I know it’s strange but I am absolutely fascinated with them.
I have many types in my yard, but I think my favorite is the spiny lizard. They are the biggest and I have many of them. One winter I was playing in the dirt and accidentally uncovered one in hibernation. I had on gloves, so I picked him up and talked to him. I was amazed at the weight he carried. Only one beady eye looked up at me. It was a wonderful experience. I put him back where I found him and probably saw him the next summer.
Another animal that I’m not so impressed with is the skunk. They are cute, but oh, the smell. There were plenty of those around where I grew up. I could do without those.

Good morning Yahweh!
I am blessed this morning by the lizards You have created. I love watching them in the yard, on the fence or wherever they show up. Many are quite beautiful when the light reflects on them just right.
I watch them eat some of my flowers, catch little flies and their mating dance is so funny! Thank You for my little friends.
I also know You created the skunks. I don’t care for those all that much, but You have reminded me that all creation exists because they please You. That even includes me!
Help me love Your creation better, take more care of what I can and enjoy to beauty of Your earth!
