He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Psalm 91:4
The night is cool, and as Mary places Jesus on His mat, she pulls His blanket close around Him. She tucks Him in and places a kiss on His cheek. Mary will later lay down beside Him to keep Him warm with her body heat, she on one side and Joseph on the other. They will protect Him with their bodies; they will shield Him from the elements and the animals. And your Lord will do the same for you. His feathers will surround you. His wings will be your shelter. He promised to take care of you. But this doesn’t mean you won’t have trials and problems. God never promised you a rose garden.
The promise is He will never leave you or forsake you during these trails. He will help you rise above the problem and soar with Him. God will give purpose to your life as no other can. And His reason for this? He wants you to share His love with others and proclaim Jesus as King of your life!
Father, thank You for Your protection and love. Thank You for being my King. I love You so much! Amen.
Eighteenth-Day Activities
Maybe you can visit the Desert Sonora Museum just west of Tucson.
Visiting a zoo would also give your children a close-up look at how birds fly. You can go to the library and check out a book on birds to read with your children. Be sure to remind them that God knows all the birds and takes care of them and that He will take even better care of your children!
Then talk to your children about today’s scripture and demonstrate how a hawk or eagle will protect their babies. Help them to visualize this is how God will be protecting them as they grow. Be sure to remind them that His feathers are also warm and waterproof. Assure your children He knows how to take care of them.
Go online and learn how to make paper airplanes. Make some with your children, and enjoy flying them around the house.
