I praise You for being the God of Creation. The world is so beautiful and diverse. You must have had fun pulling the peaks of the highest mountains together and then using Your finger to shape out the Grand Canyon. You are a God of delights and I adore You.
By it self Joshua 9:14 can be confusing. I had to go back to the Bible to figure out what it meant.
The Israelites were entering the promised land. Neighboring nations were frightened and one nation decided the only way to live was to make a treaty with Israel and it was done through deception.
The people of Gibeon went to Joshua with old closes, old wineskins and moldy bread. They told their tall tell and the people of God believed them. But the Israelites forget to seek You and they walked into the trap.
How many times in a day do I do that? Just go about my merry way without asking You which way is best. Way too many times. For that I ask for Your forgiveness.
Help me today, Jesus, to slow down in my decisions and seek Your way. I want to make You happy and see Your smile.
