And this is what He says to all humanity: ‘The fear of the LORD is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’
To fear is to submit, revere His majesty, to honor Him above all others.
Since wisdom cannot be found apart from God, the wise seeker will adopt an attitude of trust and obedience to God.
Morning Jesus!
I want to praise You this morning for just being You! The Great I AM and my Savior! I love You!
When I think about fear, it comes to mind when I was a child and things in the dark made me fear.
Or in my older age, fear of the loss of a loved one.
They are all negative images.
Then I looked up fear in my Bible dictionary and it’s so much more. With You I need to submit to Your Words, to lift up Your Majestic being and most of all to honor You above all others and all things.
And wisdom. When I realize that wisdom cannot be found apart from You, I need to have an attitude of trust and obedience toward You.
I want to understand all this, Jesus. I want to be trusting in Your presence and willing to obey Your Words. Help me please, give me Your strength and courage.
I love You, Jesus!
