Judges 6:22-24

When Gideon realized that it was the angel of the LORD, he cried out, “Oh, Sovereign LORD, I’m doomed! I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face!” “It is all right,” the LORD replied. “Do not be afraid. You will not die.” And Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and named it Yahweh-Shalom (which means “the LORD is peace”).

Good morning Yahweh,
It is good to be in Your presence this morning. You are my God and Savior and I will sing Your praises each day!

As I was reading in Your Word this morning, I came across this verse and it made me stop and think. Most of the people who saw You face to face, and they were few, were afraid for their lives. You glory must be so all consuming.

Yet, You calmed Gideon by telling him he would not die. So he built and alter for You, Yahweh-Shalom, You are Peace.

On this side of the cross I can come to You at anytime and not fear for my life. How blessed I am. You welcome me with open arms and draw me into You life so my life will be better.

I want to live for You, Yahweh. To be Your reflector in this part of my world. To shine Your love so others will come to know You.

I can’t so this alone, so I will lean into You, Spirit. You are my companion on this journey.
Love You, LORD!
Amen
