A New Heart For Christ

And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. Ezekiel 36:26 NLT

Did you know that you have had a heart transplant? When it happened you didn’t enter the hospital, you were never hooked up to any machines; you didn’t have a big scar to show for your surgery. So how does this happen?

It happens when you become a child of God. When you proclaim that Jesus Christ is your Savior. Then you receive His heart and the transformation begins.

It doesn’t mean that you will wake up one morning and have a total change of heart, love everyone, do every thing that Jesus calls you to do. It means you will have a different outlook on life, you will begin the process of becoming like Christ.

So is there a way you can help this heart transplant heal? There sure is! One way is to be in His Word as often as possible. If you can manage it, daily. But don’t beat up on yourself if you can’t. Jesus will take you where you’re at and if that’s in His Word daily or once a week, He will be there for you.

Pray often. His Word tells us we should be in prayer, Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.
Romans 12:12. Ask Jesus about everything.

Don’t think that He might be too busy or this might not be important enough. He wants all of your life and will be delighted to give you what you need. But, He wants you to ask. He wants you to know that He is capable. He wants you to know Him.

So get well soon and get to know your Jesus!

Father,
thank You for giving me a new heart. There are times I don’t feel like I’ve received it, but that is my old nature thinking, not what You have in store for me. Please give me Your eyes and ears to see and hear what You would have me learn this day. Help me to know my heart now beats for You!
Amen
