Where The Wind Blows

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. John 3:8 NLT

The wind isn’t blowing today, there isn’t even a quiver running through the trees. In the next hour, they could be bending over with the power of the wind.

As the scripture tells us this morning, the wind blows where it wants, we can see the power of the wind and even hear the wind blowing through objects. Yet, we really can’t ‘see’ the wind and it blows when it wants to.

Much like the Spirit. He cannot be contained in a bottle or lamp. He picks the path of His journey. We don’t know where He will be moving next. However, He does like to pick the most unlikely source to live through, you and me.

Many times in scripture God chooses the lowly, shepherds in the field.
The innocent, like Mary.
The everyday workers, like Peter.

He gifts His Spirit, so He can be known and glorified.

The only way we will be able to complete the journey to the cross is with the Spirit. To face our hardest moments in life, you will need the Spirit to carry you through. To know God’s path, you will need the Spirit to show you the way.

Sometimes we need to wait for the Spirit’s direction. Remember, the disciples were told to wait in Jerusalem until the He came.

Is the wind blowing at your house today? If it’s not, be still and wait for the LORD. While we wait, we need to be reading His Word and praying for direction. Realize that He is preparing us for the next windy day.

The wind still isn’t blowing outside, but the Spirit will blow in your soul as you remain in Him!

Dear Father,
I am so grateful and will praise You always that You have chosen me to be Your child. I thank You for the many times You have kissed my cheek with the breeze. I praise You for warming my soul with Your love. You are my God and I want to live for You daily. Help me to walk with You and glorify You in all I do!
Amen
