Fear of the Lord leads to life, bringing security and protection from harm.
Good Morning Abba,
Thank you for waking me in time to watch the sunrise this morning with You. It’s chilly outside but there is a warmth in my heart as I sit in Your presence. You are my purpose for living and I praise You for claiming me as Your child.
I am sometimes saddened by my English language, Father, as it limits the understanding of Your Word. Am I really supposed to be afraid of You? Am I supposed to cower in Your presence.
As I think on this word ‘fear,’ to me it means to really understand that You are God and You have the power to create and destroy, to acknowledge that You are God and to begin to grasp hold of how great You are. When I begin to have the knowledge that You are my giver of live, then I will truly have my life!
I never want to take You for granted, my LORD, I always want to respect and revere You. You are my God and I will honor You with my life. I thank You for giving me the knowledge and understanding of this part of Your character, that You are my security and protection. No one can snatch me from Your hand!
