Luke 7:12-13

A funeral procession was coming out as He approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her. When the Lord saw her, His heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!” He said.

Good Morning My Jesus,
Thank You for this wonderful morning. The air is cool, there is a soft breeze moving the trees and Your sun is just waking the world. Being here with You is such a blessing. When I take the time to start my day with You, there is a feeling of peace and I know this is where I’m supposed to be.

Your Word this morning touched my heart, LORD. How many times have I read it and just skimmed right over it. Yet, this morning You stopped me on the part, ‘His heart overflowed’. You just weren’t a bit compassionate for the loss of this woman’s only son, Your heart overflowed.

It’s just so wonderful to realize that You hurt when I hurt. You know personally my losses and Your heart overflows for me also. You care so much for me that I can’t really understand it all.

You also reminded me that my heart needs to overflow with compassion to those I meet today. I need to truly care about those who You have placed in my heart. I need to show them Your love.

Help me today, Jesus, to follow Your teaching, to open my heart to others, and care deeply for them.

I love You, Jesus, so very much. You are the delight of my life!
Amen
