Jesus came and told His disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I AM with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Good Morning Jesus,
Thank You for the time You spend with me each morning. I give praise to You, the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe, who takes time to sit with me, so I can get to know You. You are my God and I love You!
Discipleship. What a scary term Jesus. To discipleship someone, I first have to become a disciple. You know I love sitting with You, studying Your scriptures and even sharing Your wisdom with a few people. But, to go out and really get busy with discipling others? I think You must have been thinking of someone else instead of me.
As I read Your Word this morning I realize You weren’t thinking of someone else, it’s what You have called me to be and to do. I may not be the next Billy Graham, but You have asked me to disciple my family, my friends, those who I come in contact with each day. You are asking me to just tell someone about Your amazing love and grace. You are asking me to be Your voice in my corner of the world.
I don’t have to have a Phd to disciple Your people. I just have to be obedient to Your call. What I need to remember is, as I step out in faith to speak Your Words, is that I will not be alone. You will be with me forever.
Amen
