One day Terah took his son Abram, his daughter-in-law Sarai (his son Abram’s wife), and his grandson Lot (his son Haran’s child) and moved away from Ur of the Chaldeans. He was headed for the land of Canaan, but they stopped at Haran and settled there. Terah lived for 205 years and died while still in Haran.
Morning Father,
What a glorious morning You have given me. Thank You so very much.
Your Word this morning gave me pause. Abram’s dad took his son, and family and headed out for Canaan. They arrived at Haran and settled in. It might have been for short while, to rest and regroup for the rest of the trip. Yet, for some reason, they stayed and never moved on. They were content with where they were.
So many times you have shown me the great plans You have for my life. I will start to head toward them, but then get content with what I’m doing and decided to settle in. Like Terah, I miss the big adventure You set me on and let the grass grow under my feet. Please forgive me, LORD.
You are so extremely faithful and I praise You for not giving up on me. Help me today to move toward what You have created me to be. Give me strength to just put one foot in front of the other. And as I journey with You, I will give You glory for just being my LORD and Love!
Amen
