When it was time to leave, they returned to their own county by another route, for God has warned them in a dream not to return to Herod.
Good morning Jesus!
It’s another beautiful day in the southwest. It’s cold but the sun is shining and there will be many blessings today.
One of those blessings for me was when I read this scripture. How many times have I read it and yet, You stopped my thoughts on this one in particular.
I am always in awe when I realize that the Wise Men knew something huge was happening. They had watched the star from far to the east. They were not in the atmosphere of Jerusalem and its politics. But they knew, probably from You, they needed to follow it.
When they found the place it marked they found Jesus, Mary and Joseph. They worshipped Him, giving Him precious gifts that would help carry Him through His life.
They might have returned to Herod but You spoke to them in a dream, warning them Herod was not to be trusted. Best part of all this one scripture, they trusted You! They trusted when You said ‘come’ and when You said ‘worship’. Then they trusted You to go home a different route.
Oh, that I would learn to trust You like that Jesus. I truly want to, it’s just that my human side gets in the way. Strengthen me today with Your being so I can become one who totally trusts in You!
