Ears to hear and eyes to see—both are gifts from the Lord.
Good Morning Yahweh,
I will praise You everyday for being my LORD. How I enjoy these moments together with You, to get my day in perspective and to learn from Your Word. You are so gracious to me and I adore You.
Eyes and ears, two parts of my body that I take for granted. Please forgive me, Father. As Your Word this morning reminds me, they are very precious gifts from You. Any thing that You bless me with, I should never take for granted.
To be able to see Your creation, the movement of the trees, the clouds scattered in the sky, the birds playing in the water, all these are such gifts to me. Yet, if I don’t take the time to see, they are nothing.
To be able to hear laughter and crying, the birds singing, shouts of joy, again, these are such wonderful gifts. But, in this world, I’ve come to tune them out and not even notice.
I am so underserving of such blessings, LORD. These are all parts of Your creation, including my eyes and ears, and I just expect them to be there, and not thank You. I am so faithless at times.
Please slow me down, Yahweh, to see everything You have given to me. Tune my ears into the sounds around me and take joy in them.
Yet, I know You’re asking me to do this on a spiritual level also. I need to see what You see, hear what You hear. Then I need to act. When You walked this earth, You weren’t a casual bystander. You were a man of action. Help me please to be a person of action and follow Your steps.
I know, Yahweh, that my biggest and best gift is Your presence in my life. Thank You for being with me this morning!
Amen
