Luke 2:7

And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths and laid Him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

Good Morning Jesus!
What a wonderful start to the day. The sun is up and shining, the beauty of the earth surrounds me and You have greeted me with Your love this morning. How amazingly blessed I am!

As the season moves forward, LORD, I’ve been thinking more about the scripture that describes Your birth. I’ve read it so many times, but each time there seems to be something that will catch my attention and make me think.

Today, Jesus, it’s the fact that there wasn’t any lodging for Your earthly parents when they got to Bethlehem. I realized this morning that they wouldn’t have been the only ones without shelter. The census had caused many to be traveling. So were there others in the stable with them?

The other thing I thought of was the census. Augustus wanted to know how much more he could tax the people. Did Your parents wonder if they would be able to afford the new taxes, what did the future hold?

Both of those thoughts, LORD, make me realize how Your Word still speaks to me in this day. With being busy, I don’t always make room for You in the day. The season is about You, but at times I forget that. Help me today to make more room for You in my daily activities.

And, the unknown of what the world holds. It gives me great concern, will I be able to deal with the changes? What does the future hold for me?

What joy to be in Your presence, because with You I can do whatever You ask. With You I have hope for my future.

I will walk with You, You have made room for me in Your life, help me to make room for You in mine. I will trust You with my future. I will live in the joy of Your presence!
Amen
