So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that You are my disciples.”
Good Morning Jesus,
How fresh the air is this morning, how beautiful the colors of the sky, and how wonderful to sit in Your love and just be.
You tell me, Jesus, that You want me to love everyone I meet. That’s kind of hard sometimes. With the season of stress building, even people in the grocery stores are short of patience. No one wants to be kind or generous, everyone just wants to get done what they have to do and go to the next project. When people bite my head off for just being the right person at the right time, it’s hard to love them.
However, that’s just what You are asking me to do, especially when others are grumpy and short. What better time to be loving people as we celebrate Your birth!
What caught my attention this morning, Jesus, is that You said my love for others will prove that I am Your disciple. I’ve never really thought about loving as proof of Your presence. In a world that wants concrete facts about everything, what better action to do than to love those who are grumpy and short with me! I want to prove to the world You live, that You are real and alive. I can’t do it alone, LORD. When someone is edgy with me today, help me draw on Your enormous pool of love and prove to them that You are LORD of my life!
I love You!
Amen
